bought 97 civic with d16y5 and...

just bought a civic coupe with a d16y5 motor...did research on it and was disappointed to find out about this vtec-e and hearing its not as good as normal vtec performance wise... I also have the econolight too.

now this is my question....to my knowledge that motor with vtec-e should have dual selenoids correct? well mine only has one. does that mean someone swapped it to normal vtec? im just confused and have already tried searching numerous sites for info.

Maybe they put a different head on it? how would i know? and if so how does that effect the d16y5 motor i have?
