Hey guys, I have been searching and looking for info, but cannot find any info on the swap I am trying to study up on.

Does anyone know, or have any links to swapping a 99-00 Hx d16y5 engine and 5speed manual transmission into a 99-00 Ex coupe with d16y8 and 5speed manual?

I am concidering selling my 5th gen Ex coupe and getting a 6th gen Ex coupe, but only if I can indeed swap in the Hx y5 and actually utilize the vtec-e/lean burn funtions.

I would like to get a 5spd 99-00 Ex coupe and drive the **** out of its y8,, while I rebuild a y5 on the side, and eventually swap the Hx engine/trans/ecu into the Ex. Is this possible? Anyone have any info or links concerning this swap?

Or, what do you guys think should be "easier"?

Buying a 96-00 civic ex coupe and swapping in the hx y5 engine/trans/ecu (and make vtec-e/lean-burn 100% functional....

Or....Buying a 96-00 civic hx coupe and swapping over all the stuff I want from the ex coupe?
