Re: Suspension

I think my eibach springs were around 350.00 if I'm not mistaken, They aren't adjustable but it dropped mine 1 1/2 inches.

Re: Suspension

Adjustable coil-over types will cost much more than 4-500. If you still want a soft ride, go with a variable rate spring (like OEM) and a stiffer strut to make up for the stiffer spring.

If that's the route you are wanting to go, get some Eibach Pro-Kit springs (used to save money or around $200 new for a set). Then a set of KYB GR2 for about $72 each (or AGX for $99 each if you want to fine tune the ride to your liking). I'm sure there are plenty of other brands of struts that will also dampen those springs but most of my experience is with Koni's (read more $$$).

If you want something more the choices are limitless. Linear rate ERS springs (to the rate you want) on Ground Control coil-over sleeves is a good poor-man's version of full blown coil-overs as long as a good strut is used, like a Koni. Actual coilovers with linear rates can cost big money, but are really incredible.

yea thats me... thanx!

I was in a shop looking at some agx's they were like $390 something... they were the springs and shocks

I don't really know if thats a deal or not... I've never bought or looked into suspension before so im kinda learning as i go... I was looking on ebay at this tokico set http://tinyurl.com/dmzntk

also should I invest in a strut bar? rear and front? lower rear? I wanna get rid of wheel hop but I don't want to pay assloads of money for some stupid bar I could prob make from parts out of the junkyard...

Re: Suspension

Don't spend money on strut bars (unless you just buy the Si front one from Honda-it's cheap, light and works better than most). It will not help wheel hop at all. You just need good springs/struts. AGX's with springs for $390 new? That's the price of AGX's only new, so I'm not sure what kind of springs they would come with.

Linear rates are by far better for feel (heck and for wheel hop) but most people don't like them because they give a slightly harsher ride. On my track/fun car I could care less about ride quality, only turning corners with a linear compression/rebound. On my daily driver I have Eibach Pro-Kit's because a) I know the company (since I use ERS springs on my fun car) and b) I got them for $75 used. My stock struts aren't quite strong enough to firm up the ride though. I'll be tossing AGX's on but that may be overkill as GR-2's would probably do the trick but I also like the ability to fine tune the damping rates.

Re: Suspension

Oh...and watch out for AGX's on Ebay, KYB has warned that there are cheap knock-off's that come very close in appearance but aren't built with the same quality and you will have no warranty unless bought from an authorized dealer.
