transmission suggestions
So I b16 swapped my 97 dx and originally had the b16 trans in it but the syncros took a poop on me like a month after... All I had at the time was a Interga LS trans and i needed a working car asap for my job... So I said wth ill get better gas mileage! I did put some type R linkage on there and new stock clutch...
GOD I MISS THE B16 TRANS!
so now that I have the time and money... should i swap back to a b16 tranny? or stay with the ls? I think the current ls trans is governed as well on account of my car tops off at 110. But what kinda upgrades should i do if i do stick with the ls? I was thinking maybe like a stage one clutch and lightened flywheel...
LOL

Re: transmission suggestions
I'm a big fan of proper gear ratios and the LS does not have them for your engine. Screw the mileage talk, I still get 38MPG at ~80MPH (~4300 RPM) with my B16 and it's stock Y21 transmission.
The only thing that might help the LS is to put in a 4.40 final drive like the factory matched transmission. A stage 1 clutch is totally unnecessary. A lightened flywheel is never a bad investment but with the LS transmission's tall first gear it will be harder on your clutch as you slip it every time to get started from any stop.
My suggestion is to find a proper b16a transmission with LSD (or install one). By far the best upgrade for any transmission IMO, but I live for the corners/sweepers/esses. Especially in the wet.
