most effective SOHC Vtec bolt ons
does anyone have any experience, or has read anything about the most effective bolt ons for these cars?
i've heard cat backs and cold airs dont do much, im kinda beginning to think there is no power to be had but for a turbo or a nitrous kit. (which i ordered, NOS sniper kit)

haha i was thinking the samething man...till i talked to one of my buddies...he said if you want real power just do a engine swap to k20 or h22...getting a turbo on a d16 or nos isnt really worth it...im saving up for a k20 myself...hope to have it by the end of the summer =)

Re: most effective SOHC Vtec bolt ons
i mean does upgrading your ignition system, intake manifold, throttle body, advancing the timing a couple degrees, running premium, header, test pipe, cat back, anything help at all... i bet not. at least not more than 20 horse from all the above... ![Frown](https://www.civicforums.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
short of power adders, motor swaps, and machining heads/stroking i guess its all i'll get out of this shizen car

the best thing you can do is maintain the car well so you keep the performance thats already there. an intake/header/exhaust will help a tiny bit but mostly for sound. try reducing the weight of the car with things you dont need so the engine doesnt have to work as hard.

I bought this power chamber carbon fiber intake from password JDM I guess the only real difference is the light weight an maybe (correct me if im wrong) heard the carbon composite doesn't heat as quick as other aluminum intakes ? Whatever I'm going H-series soon.

Re: most effective SOHC Vtec bolt ons
it wont help much at all, but i guess something is better than nothing. dont you think? you might be able to get away with a catback exahust. if you are doing an engine swap later on you can still keep that. maybe just do suspension work
