Help. The bottom Fuel Filter nut would not loosen
Help. The bottom Fuel Filter nut would not loosen
I followed the directions here from this website to replace fuel filter:
http://www.ehow.com/how_2245148_repl...nda-civic.html
but when i tried to unbolt the bottom nut, it wouldn't budge. I couldn't even find out what size of wrench to use. The 14mm is too small but 15 is too big. I even sprayed the PB Blaster http://autorepair.about.com/od/tools/fr/PB-REVIEW.htm but to no avail. I made sure I turned the nut clockwise because it's on the bottom. What should I do to get it loosen?
I might have striped the nut a little, if so how do I replace it?

It's a 14 mil at the filter dude. I've replaced them many times. Are you using 2 wrenches (one on each "nut") and squeezing them together?

Don't you see the hex area below the hex area on the filter? In other words there are 2 places to put wrenches. One is 14 mil, and the other is 12 from what I recall. You put the wrenches on so one is pointing 5-10 degrees past the other one. Then you put your hands over both and sqeeze them towards each other. It's the hex nut on the actual metal fuel pipe that screws out and the hex on the filter is there for support. If you're looking at it from top-down, the hex nut will loosen clockwise.

Thanks. just for clarification, are you saying looking top down, the nut on the fuel filter is turned clockwise? or is it the nut on the fuel line that's turned clockwise?
I actually went to a Honda dealer. The guy said looking top down, the nut on the fuel filter is turned clockwise. But if this is the case, then it is different from what this board is saying.
