Power steering pump rebuilt/offset steering wheel.
So today i rebuilt my 2002 civic power steering pump and changed my rock and pinion, after i changed the rock and pinion i took the power steering pump apart to change the o-rings and bearing but after i open the pump, some short pieces of metals that they call vain fall out and i didn't know that each of the long side got different colors. One side is shine and the other long side got gold brands looking color. I just put the brans side in and turn the shine side out. After i put everything back together, i realized that the steering wheel tight, that means the power steering pump may not put back together correctly.can i have and opinion on what could cause the pump to not working and give some advice of how to deal with the steering wheel thats offset.?I'm thinking of take off the steering wheel while the wheels on the outside are straight but i dont want to damage the clock spring.
Re: Power steering pump rebuilt/offset steering wheel.
You'll need an alignment to fix your steering issue.
Did you completely flush your power steering fluid before reassembly? Does it even have enough power steering fluid in it? Have you let it circulate properly?
Did you really just suggest that removing your steering wheel will fix your alignment issue?

ok so here is what I'm saying. It seems to me that something didn't fix properly inside of the pump, I'm not sure if its the vains turn rong as i mentioned in my writing above but there is no fluid reaching the steering rack because its tight. And yes, i got all the old fluid out of the rack before i reinstalled it. And i was saying that if i straighten the wheels then take off the steering wheel and reinstalled it just to strengthen it a little bit so it wouldn't look like it is now. Then take it tova shop to have it align.
