Hey guys,

I have an EM2 with a k20a swap.

The power steering was completed 3 days ago. Just last night on my way home, my steernig wheel got REALLLYYYY stiff!!!! I had to use all my strength to make turns. I got home and noticed that my power steering area is making noises. My steering fluid is full so its not a leak.

What could it be? How do I fix it? I can't even drive the car to a mechanic because the steering wheel won't turn!

I took a short clip so you guys can see whats going on under the hood... any help would be much appreciated.

The noise is when the steering wheel is turned.

Sounds like a bad PS pump. It would only make noise when turning the wheel because thats when the pump is pushing the fluid. Take the belt off and see if it is easier to drive. It should still be tough, but the noise should go away. Replacing the pump will be a lot easier than swapping in the k20.

My steering just started doing the same thing last night. steering will only move when the car is moving. I also hear a constant squealing/rattling under the hood.
How much would it cost to change the pump? I think the OE pump alone costs $800.
