are there any DIY threads to remove the rear wiper?

iv done it on other cars and love the smooth clean look.

iv completed most of it already just not sure how to separate the wiper arm from the motor unit. any advise?

Re: rear wiper removal?

did some research to find out how it was assembled, should be able to remove wiper after removing the hex bolt. mine is most likely rusted and stuck in place. going to try pb-blaster and pry it off.

there are literally no how-to's for this which is surprising so maybe ill make one if there is any interest... probably not considering there seems to be no real civic community.

ill still post a pic though cause it really is a nice look

not that surprising to me, i don't think its a very common thing to do,

and not sure why you would want to

i personally think sight and safety is more important then looks

but hey, its your life, and your car

Re: rear wiper removal?

Its solely for cosmetic reasons.

This isn't the first hatch iv never used my rear wiper for so I remove them and replace with a painted plug. actually got the idea from other enthusiasts and always get good feed back.

just cleans up the look of the rear is all.

ill post a picture so you don't have to take me only on word.

Re: rear wiper removal?

Well got the wiper off... kind of a pia but removed it along with the wiper motor. Bought the plug needed and a two part epoxy for a watertight seal. Plug is being painted. Should have it finished today.

if I can figure it out, pictures will follow, and ultimately the reason for doing it.

Re: rear wiper delete (pictures)

I only recommend doing this if you (like me) have realized you never use your rear wiper. I didn't for this car or my beloved mazda 3 hatch I had before this. wasn't even sure if it worked cause of the lack of need for use and never cared to test it due to the marks they form.

Re: rear wiper removal?

You are not making an step-by-step how to remove the wiper, so it had been removed from the DIY section.

If you have pictures or a good write up that others can look at and do the same, by all means, go for it!

Right now, it is not clear enough to help others do it themselves.
