Right brake light out

My right brake lights don't work. I have these

as my tail lights. However, both the left and rights work when the headlights are on. Still when the brake is pressed, the right side does not get brighter. I eliminated it being an LED problem by inserting a normal incandescent bulb in the socket. I eliminated it from being a socket problem by switching the left and rights. I checked the fuse under the hood and it looks fine. Any ideas?

Re: Right brake light out

So you plugged in a standard duel filament bulb and when you pressed the brake pedal it didn't get brighter?

Re: Right brake light out

There will be a junction point where left and right (and maybe 3rd) split off... you have an open circuit from that point to the problem side. (you stated left brake light works correctly)

Own a meter, or 12 volt test light ?? Start at socket and work backwards.

Re: Right brake light out

I will try and do that. Is it safe to eliminate the brake light switch since my left and 3rd brake light work?

Re: Right brake light out

Switch is working.

Open circuit after junction point.

You need to take expert guidance otherwise it could get horribly wrong.
