Whenever I notice the steering wheel isnt centered. Also I check the tires when I rotate them every 5k miles. Gives you a better idea of your needs.

i do an alignment every 5,000 miles (when i change my oil) and get a printed spec sheet of what my alignment is currently like.

one of the perks of having lifetime alignment.

Its really only necessary if you change certain suspension components (tie rods) or the steering wheel is off center.

You dont really need an alignment for any other reason.

well, its more of a "check" the alignment (because i can; because i haz lifetime).

and if the alignment is off, they correct it.

sometimes i will lift my car and let them zero out my camber...and then drop it exactly X" to obtain a -x degree of camber. go back the next day and have then "check ONLY" my alignment and print out the spec sheet.

i run -2 in front and -1* in rear. a full gas tank+a few goodies in the trunk will make it close to -2.



lol its more time consuming than id like it to be. i avg spend 2hrs there...but thats good since i konw they are doing it right.

Used to do an alignment every six months. I was also swapping every six months too, haha. Now it's every tire or component change, cause the only well alignment rack @ Express Tire closed (I had lifetime alignment with them). Everything else is on a ramp and I can get on without scraping. Since I have to pay now, it's not as frequent.

i do mine once a year or 10k miles. the specs are usually different enough to matter and make it worth doing. even a pothole can cause alignment to be thrown off. and if you hit a curb, get it looked at asap.
