(New member) Introduction
So I thought I should start a thread to introduce myself. You guys can call me chozo if you would like. Where to begin...so I recently purchased my first civic about a week ago. Despite this being my first civic, it wasnt my first Honda. After getting my license almost a year ago, my dad passed down the car that I grew up in to me. A 1994 Honda Accord LX; One of three accords we owned at the time. I was planing on doing an h22 swap with all the bells and whistles, until my accord was totaled back on the 17th. I was stopped at a light and some kid with his permit was coming up behind me, without noticing that I was stopped in front of him. Long story short is that he missed the brake and hit the gas, hitting me at between 25 and 30 into a truck in front of me.
Since I drive to school everyday, and I'm leaving for college in 6 months, I needed another car. My dad and I together bought a 2003 4Dr Civic EX with only 74000 miles on it. I decided that I'm going to make due with the situation at hand, so I plan on building this Civic into something special. Both in Performance and Appearance.
Well, sorry to take up so much space. I guess I just tend to ramble when It comes to things like this. Hopefully you guys will see me around pretty often with the results of my build.

Welcome to the forum!
Sounds like a sweet ride, lets see some pics.
The engine you have is not very good to modify. The only way to get good power is to turbo it, Nitrous, or swap it with a something better. However suspension and stereo and stuff like that are always a good idea!

Welcome to the site.
Fix what needs to be fixed on your car, then upgrade it. Save yourself sometime and throw a turbo kit on there like everyone does eventually.

Dam, that sucks, sounds exactly like what happened to Steve Meade (if anyone follows him on youtube)
He bought a 250IS, and in 2 months, some guy rammed him from behind at 40mph, sending him into a corvette
2 days later, his insurance paid him off, and he went to the dealership and bought himself a 2011 ISF

Reminds me of my ex. She had a Crossfire (brand new) for less than a month when a jackass DWI hit her in the rear doing 65 (in a fullsize truck). Get the car back and less than week later some other DWI a-hole (in a fullsize) hits her in the rear again. She walked away from both. Don't ask me how, sitting in that thing your head is like 18" from the rear bumper. They final totaled it after that only because the total repairs (from both accidents) would be more than the car cost ($42K). Two days later she's driving a brand new S2000. Tried to talk her into getting a Corvette instead but, she said "Yuck, they look old!". lol...chicks.

Sorry for the late response, but here are a few pictures of the new ride. I would have taken more, but we just got our first decent snowfall of the season out here.
So overall, the car is in great shape. One of the few things I still need to do is the timing belt, which I think I can wait a few months on seeing how the car only has 74000 miles on it. From driving it so far, I know the first thing I want to improve is suspension. I want to lower the car just slightly with performance shocks and struts, and reinforce it with a high quality sway bar. These are just my starting ideas, but I would love to have your guy's input as to what else I could do to or things I may have over looked.

Miatas are great motox cars, dont get me wrong...
I just cant be seen driving one as DD
Even though the turbo'd MX5 i played around with was awesome (then again, it was a beamer wannabe, with the body kits and gills, so it wasnt too girly)

So far, its been a pretty good all around car. Not as long, wide or low as my old accord, so I cant say I feel as secure about doing the same sort of things I use to.

I'm in the process of taking care of general maintenance, which turns out to be very little. The previous owner has been using synthetics in it since the first oil change or so, so the motor is in great shape. Because of who the previous owner was, I can say without a doubt that the tach never went over 4500 or so. She supposedly was some school teacher who put mostly suburban miles on it. Overall, I'm happy with the car I got.
On an even lighter note, the insurance company finally paid us off, giving us over $2900 for the totaled accord...Way more than we expected. I also managed to salvage the badges off my accord, since I plan on making this civic my baby accord. I found some of the photos of my late accord. Damn shame.
