One of a kind Exhaust?
One of a kind Exhaust?
Hey all,
I need opinions, advice, and whatever else. I like to do things that are different from everyone else. But I like to do them good. Currently I have a POS 3Aracing muffler. I acquired it for cheap and had it installed at next to nothing. Not very loud, and not anything special. I have been looking at Bassani mufflers for my truck. I really like their truck sound. I ran across an axel back kit for a mustang, that has 2 straight thru muffler designs similar to most exhaust kits for these civics and other small cars. I have attempted to contact Bassani and several dealers asking about price of just the muffler(since obviously I don't need 2, or the special pipe). I have not heard back from any of them. Bassani makes awesome mufflers, but mostly for trucks and motorcycles, to the best of my knowledge. Has anyone ever heard of putting on of these above mentioned mufflers on a 4 banger? Any idea on how I can get a price for a part I don't know the number for? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: One of a kind Exhaust?
find a used one on craigslist or something and chop it down to size and pull out the welder! i have a flowmaster 40 series on mine and it sounds good, more like a stock G35, rather than some idiot trying to make a civic into a fast and the furious ride...
Re: One of a kind Exhaust?
I have no idea about what these mufflers would sound like on a civic... But http://www.bassani.com/mufflers/ this page should sow you what mufflers Bassani has for universal applications.
Re: One of a kind Exhaust?
On Bassani's site under the universal mufflers, It has no "coffee can" muffler like what I was looking for. I had never thought to just put one the in place of the OEM muffler. I've had this other one on there for so long I forgot what used to be on there. Interested to hear what a 40 series flowmaster sounds like on a civic.....
I know I'm setting myself up, but I did install a Harley muffler on my Supra when I was in High school. It looked cool with the big chrome muffler. Sounded like a bad word that starts with SH and ends with IT. Except for second gear, for some reason that sounded pretty cool.
