k so i have an 01 civic ex coupe and i have some yellow fog lights that i want to install but i have one problem: the previous owner already installed some shitty universal foglights that he wired into the headlight switch

ive wanted to take them out but im worried about any sorts of problems
also im new to cars so like i dont really know much about the electrical stuff (i.e. tapping into wires, relays, etc)

the foglights turn on when i turn my headlights on and there is a relay for them if that helps any...

what would be the proper procedure for taking these out?

He probably tapped into the headlight wires....look through the head light wires and untap the wires....make sure you disconnect the battery.

k well how should i untap them? do i just cut them and tape them up or something?

well they should already be taped up...first you have to locate the wires that control the headlights....from there you should find a wire or two from the foglights taped up...just remove all the wires from the fogs...its kinda easy but hard to explain through words.
