Angry follow up to: 3" rock+ 2" drop+ rim=death!

Well okay picture this, Earlier today I hit a rock that took out my rim (i.e. title) and on the same frickin day later that evening im driving my wifes car back from the store on the same road at the same spot, just in the evening, and coming around a corner, guess what happened... Another rock and ANOTHER flat tire! I was even taking my time and only doing 40 on this 55 mile an hour road, with my brights blaring! I cant believe it. When it happened I actually stood on the side of the road stupified for about 3 or 4 minutes, and then I heard a bang and another guy hit the rock and got a flat! That just ground in me feeling like a dumbass for not running down and getting the rock out of the road like I did the first time! What are the frickin odds of that?! I should take a damned poll! Anyway bad days hurt when it involves car parts I can tell you that!

That sucks dude. So did you still leave the rock in the road after the other guy hit it, or did you pick it up?

Re: follow up to: 3" rock+ 2" drop+ rim=death!

theres a stretch of road here with big rocks all over the road sometimes. they get cleaned up but then come back again. its like driving around cones sometimes to avoid them. at night it sucks cause the roads are really dark too.

You should throw the rock through a cal trans (the Utah equivalent) truck window next time you see one.

Re: follow up to: 3" rock+ 2" drop+ rim=death!

call the city and say your stupid rocks broke my car lol. i know its the city trucks around here cause every day on that road i see 5 inch big rocks all over the road. they just fall off the truck and its a road hazard. heck ive even heard of some guys getting money from the city cause a pothole damaged their rim.

Re: follow up to: 3" rock+ 2" drop+ rim=death!

i'm with gearbox. around here i've heard of people tearing up their rims on manhole covers right after the roads being ground down prior to paving. i hear you have to take a picture of the manhole or whatever, and also your damage to your car and you'll almost surely get it fixed.
