can i lift the engine out of the top.?

need help. is there anyway i can lift the engine from the top instead of under neath.? the manual says it has to be lowerd under the car.? im putting the same exact engine in. 01 ex.

taking off the hood makes it easier. i know with chevy longblocks it makes it lots easier to take out the engine if you take the tranny off. so it doesn't hang all funny because of the extra weight of the trans. i think you should be able to leave the trans on pretty easily though on a honda.

Like everyone else said, short answer is yes. Pull the hood, pull the axles and just be prepared to wiggle it a little bit.

Well I like to take the hood off and then just use my Hercules strength and pull the engine outta the car :P lol.

Done that without the tranny on it. I really need to buy a hoist.

hook the lift to the tranny and motor and pop out the axles and it should come right out
