Angry help!!! cant get it in the hole!!!

Im having a lot of trouble fitting my 04-05 "oem style" fog lights into the holes. I cut the tabs and smoothed down the edges. I got em in there but they definately do not look like they are in all the way. THey look like they are hangin out or something. I drilled the hole where the marks were on the bumper and everything. What should I try next? should I try to grind down more of the bumper to get em in there further? am I missing something here? should I grind down the light housing a little too? Im lost! anyone have or had a similar problem? any info is appreciated!

Re: help!!! cant get it in the hole!!!

you should remove the fog light bracket thats on it ... basically its like the 2nd layer... unscrew the screw and pull it off and then it will fit but make sure to screw it back on properly cuz one of mine was a little bit loose n fell off on the main highway

Re: help!!! cant get it in the hole!!!

you mean totally discard the bracket?? throw it away and just stick the light in there? or do you mean take the bracket off, install the bracket, then install the light after that?

Re: help!!! cant get it in the hole!!!

hehehehe @ thread title.

When I put my foglights in, I saw the template but didnt follow it. I just cut away a little bit at a time till I got a snug fit. Take the bumper off and try to put the light in, and look at the back of the bumper to see what its getting caught up on. Then dremel it down- just do a lil bit at a time to get a snug fit. You dont wanna hack inches off and have your bumper be crap.

Wink Re: help!!! cant get it in the hole!!!

first of all take the bumper off, then take off the bracket of the fog light then place the fog light in the bumper and screw the bracket back on to the foglight from the inside of the bumper

I got it. damn these ebay fogs are garbage. I seperated the bracket from the light, and just use the light in there. I drilled a few holes and used a couple dozen zip ties to hold them bastards in there. they aint goin nowhere. they look a lot better now. thanks for the help

hahaa--i had to get ghetto on it i was gettin pissed. it looks a hell of a lot better than it did before, theyre actually flush with the bumper now and look like they belong on the car. I trust my pack of 24 zip ties holding them in more than I trusted that garbage bracket. Ill get some pics up soon, gotta wash the car first. its filthy.
