Re: angel eye + hid

Angel eye projectors were not made to handle HID period. Their design photometrics, and lens placement were all designed around the halogen bulb. HID with its arc positioning throws all of it out of whack. You are better off replacing those projectors with either HID projectors (valeo D2S) or you can settle for the halogen version (H7 and use and H7 HID bulbs) which can handle HID quite well.

Re: angel eye + hid

um yea those ebay projector SUCK. putting hid just makes it worse. they are just horrible and you need to swap it with something better. im actually planning to put in some h7 halogen valeo projectors from audi and use those. they fit right in without much effort into the sonar and tyc projector lamps. but yea you need to open the lamp and swap the projector with something better.

Re: angel eye + hid

h7 is halogen lamp based, d2s is hid based. altho they do sell h7 to d2s adapters since the h7 versions do very well with hid too (altho they were designed as halogen only).

Re: angel eye + hid

ok im def. going with d2s. now on ebay i find some d2s projectors from other cars such as audi...do i just pick any or what?

also in this http://retrofit1.dirtysamurai.com/ it says i need some philips bulbs...but do i really need Matsushita ballasts, 8 #6 hex nuts, and 4 3" Cold cathode tubes (can be found on computer case fans) in my 2005 civic??

sry to ask so many questions...can you give some tips on taking headlight apart (cuz i really dont have a clue other than to stick it in a oven), and is there any modification needed to make the d2s projectors fit?
