07 Civic Cat fail

I recently had engine failure from block crack . Dealership replaced block and rebuilt engine under warranty even though 07 model had 260000 miles. Very impressed and grateful for work. Now couple months later getting engine code saying catalytic converter issue. Have seen threads where this failure was connected with engine failure and owner was able to get help from dealer. Given miles on my Civic does everyone think that would be unrealistic expectation ( dealer help ) or not. Also , what is best aftermarket CC. ?

Re: 07 Civic Cat fail

That's a lot of miles.....

You could give it a try.

Not sure I'd go 3rd party though.

Re: 07 Civic Cat fail

I would not blame the engine or the dealer.

I'd expect the high mileage wore out the cat.

Re: 07 Civic Cat fail

Poorly running engines can decrease the life of the cat (unburnt gasoline). I had one go out after driving with a misfire. With all of the miles on yours that seems about right.
