Engine Codes what are they

I'm trying to find out what my engine code is and I don't know where to look. I have a 2001 Honda Civic EX. If you could help that would be great thanks.

your engine code is D17A2.....i'll try to find out where it is stamped inside the engine bay

it's pretty easy to see the stamp, took me about 10 seconds to find it.

The engine stamp i believe it is on the front (facing the front of the car.. duh) left. you should see it on the head or right below it. I will look @ mine later to find out for sure.
