HID H1 Doesn't Fit In TYC Projectors?

I got H1 HID, it says DH1 on the box, I can't seem to fit the bulb in the TYC Projector, seems like the bulb in width is too large, anyone have this problem? If so, how'd you get around it?

i think... u have to cut part of that sheild rod thingy on the HID bulb. from what ive been reading, the shield is there only becuase of ppl that use it in stock headlight housing. the sheild prevents light from shining down and reflecting back up into oncomming traffic. but with projectors i think u can just cut off that shield.

i could be totally wrong though. try PMing Unleaded

ok the verdict is you have to file some of the metal on the inside of the TYCs to get the H1 HIDs to fit, wow can't believe no one brought this up before? Yap I did have H4 HIDs but sold em because i didn't like the pure blob of brightness, wanted it condensed into the TYC projectors, i know blah blah, its not made for HID but i'm not that picky, just want to see clearly even if the beam pattern isn't the bomb

I had the same problem. You need to use a dremel tool with a very small grinding end to file down some of the metal housing preventing the bulb from entering the projector. You'll need to take your projectors off to do it (obviously). Look at the shape of the housing and you'll see where you need to grind. Its a very small notch. Make sure to shake/vacuum all of the metal dust when your done.

ok cool, i don't have a dremel tool but i but a metal filling thing, just wanted to make sure that I wasn't retarded screwing up my projectors, but it seems thats the only way and everyone else do it, so go with the flow i guess.

Just to conclude when ppl search, you do need to file down the inside of the metal that holds the bulb, the H1 HID is too big for it, i got mines to fit after a short time of fileing like a madman
