Questions for those who have their amps installed under passenger seat

i'm planning to get an amp and all the accessories within 2 weeks, so ihave a few questions to ask if you've done this install:

1) how long power wire did you need? positive and negative (measured in FEET)

2) where did you attach the ground wire to?

3) how long did you need the subwoofer wires to be (assuming your wires are going from the amp under the seat to the trunk)? (measured in FEET)

4) how long was your rca cable (from HU to amp)? (measured in FEET)

5) can the amp get ruined easily from under the seat?

6) how do you remove the passenger seat? i heard there were just 4 bolts, 2 in front 2 in back, i'll look at it as soon as i finish this post though

thanks

i haven't really looked, but i'd probably think the REMOTE and RCA's would run under the carpet and to where the passenger seat would be

3 meters power wire, ground attaches to one of the bolts in the seats. I bought Lightning Audio RCA's it has already 5 meters designed to reach up to the trunk but only 2 meters is needed from HU to amp. Amp to subs i put in 3 meters w/ allowance so i can creep the cables anywhere.
You don't really need to remove the seats, everything is simple. I used (2) two channel amps under each seat, they're small and could easily fit.
The amp is better placed here since its less bumpy compared to the trunk and it gets better airflow. Just don't let the rear passengers kick it, sound gets crappy when the RCA's or outputs loosen.

don't remove the seat. its unnesseccary. what size is your amp? i have a 250D Memphis Audio and it fit perfectly under the seat without being scratched or getting in the way. you don't need to mount it either. just pull the wires tight enough and it will stay in place. my guess is that you aren't going for show since your going to put it under the seat so who cares. put the cables under the door sill. its really easy, just pull hard to get it off after taking out any visible screws. it all fits. if you got any more questions just PM me and i will give you more details. peace!

i'm getting a jbl 1200.1, it's a pretty big amp, i don't think i want it sliding under my passenger seat... besides, i know a lot of people that have done this install easily, why should taking out the seat be so hard?

anyway, can anyone help with all my questions?

I think that it would be easier just to put the amp in your trunk because that way you can have it locked and you dont have to worry about somebody smashing one of your windows and moving the seat foward and walking off with your amp... if its in the trunk, and you keep it locked... they are gonna have a hard time trying to jack it.. u know what i'm saying? I think that it would be easier just to put it in the trunk also becuase you wont have to take out the entire center counsel to get underneath the carpet becuase you just have to push the wires up underneath the side panneling.. but that's just my oppinion i guess... good luck with whichever way you decide to go..

i don't have to take out the center console... this is a very simple process, the only thing i have never done is taken out the passenger seat... right now my amp is in my trunk but i'd rather have it under the seat because OBVIOUSLY it is better protection because all people have to do is rip it off if it's in the trunk, i know from experience, so why don't you tell me how easy it would be to remove it from under the seat? second, how would anyone know it's under my passenger seat in the first place? it's one of the safest places in the car man

anyway... is there anyone that can answer my questions?

My amp fits nicely under the passenger seat. It never seems to be a problem for people in the back. I would go ahead and buy more wire than you think you'll need. It doesn't hurt to have left overs, it'll suck for you if you buy too little. Go ahead and measure out the distance running from the inside front of the car to the back. I just eyed it and bought the wiring kit. You can never be to sure. Good Luck
