mixing oil
i know you shouldn't mix brands of oil...
but would it be okay to mix a 50/50 mixture of 5w-20 and 5w-30
of the same brand?
[edit - fixed typo] i want to mix 5w-20 supersyn and 5w-30 supersyn
but would it be okay to mix a 50/50 mixture of 5w-20 and 5w-30
of the same brand?

no, i meant 5w-20 synthetic and 5w-30 synthetic.
i was getting 39 mpg with the stock 5w-20 organic oil,
but when i switched to mobil 1 5w-30, my mpg dropped
to 34 mpg.
i figure it's because of the higher viscosity,
but i don't want to use something as thin as 5w-20
especially with the hot summer months just ahead,
so i figured 5w-25 would be a good balance

About Amsoil, I've never heard of having to flush your old oil out unless your just firing up a freshly rebuilt engine. Some guys like to flush out the metal shavings and particles after a few rpm pulls. But Amsoil is fully compatible with dino oil, so you shouldnt need to flush. Just drain the dino and refill with Amsoil.
If your looking for more info on oil, check out this
site's forum.
Alot of good info there..
