Put a lx/dx cluster in a dx?
no tools needed other than a "phillips" screwdriver. i did it to mine. total romoval and install time is 15 minutes. put the tilt steering down all the way. carefully romove the top of the steering column. (no screws, just snaps on). you have 2 screws in the cluster visor. remove them. the hardest part is pulling out this plastic visor peice. its held on by some kind of 2 sidded tape in back. just pull straight out. be careful not to break the trip meter or dimmer ***** if you pull down and out. remove remaining screws. unplug.... and reverse the steps.

This will also change your mileage in the odometer, right?! And whats the legal repercussions of switching a gauge cluster? Should you swap it back when you eventually trade cars, or what? What's the odometer on the original cluster going to show when you reinstall it?
I know this was in another thread, but it's relevant here too. I'm also considering this, as I have a DX also.

it was my understanding you have to write down the ending milage of the tach you removed. check your local DMV. some have a form you must fillout, and is notorized. i kept my old cluster in case. and write down the milage of the cluster when you put in the other. keep good records i guess.
yes it is just a plug-n-ply type deal. there is a tach wite that already exists even in the DX harness. the diagnostic tach wire most people hook up a "monster tach" type to is under the hood on the passenger side in between the battery and the fuse box i think
