please be real specific on what u did , bc im starting on a conversion monday. dc header for the EX model, then getting the EX downpipe, and does some welding in between and so on, and what did u do about th O2 sensors.
well i took dc sport ex header and connected it to a custom pipe i bent up at a my buddies shop. i used my original muffler pipe, and didnt mess with my original cat in any way so if i need to i can put it back on. anyways, i took o2 sensor off a old ford escort engine i found at the shop the threads fit perfect. then i welded them onto my connection pipe from my header to my muffler. i stuck my hand under and i do feel air coming out. so ill fix it and tell you what happens.

I got the Kamikaze header put on my 01 LX. I had to lengthen the O2 sensors. Plus, if you're getting a downpipe, then I'm assuming your cat converter is going to be removed. Then you will also need an O2 simulator, so the check engine light doesn't come on.

ok, here it is in simple terms....
on the LX trim car, any header is an upgrade to the airflow coming out of the head. more air usually means more NOISE. i did the EX exhaust conversion with the HP header, HP hiflow cat, and the Greddy Evo catback. now, if youre doin the conversion, it would be wise to stick with all manufactured products, but if u really wanna go with custom exhaust, u can. i would recommend the KAMIKAZI header for anyone wanting a header on their LX, because i've heard that the gains are about the same, and the install is less of a headache, because the KAMIKAZI is designed to fit the LX engine/engine mounts. with HP header, there are many alterations to be done on engine mounts, o2 sensors, etc.. on LX cars. the gains dont jusify the install time/headache/cost....fyi.

doin the dc header for the ex, bought high flow cat from autozone for 50 bucks, and the muffler shop is going to make new connectors and put the 02 sensors in and it will all be done, there will be no stock piping anywhere
