5W30 Synthetic in Winter?

Yes, I know this topic has been beaten to death, but one thing that I have noticed in previous threads is that most of you running 5W30 synthetic are located in warmer locations than Toronto. In Toronto we frequently get up to 30 C in summers, but can get down to -20 C in winters.

Although Honda recommends the use of 5W20 oil, I have been entertaining the idea of using 5W30 synthetic, specifically Mobil One
Tri-Synthetic. I have no worries using 5W30 synthetic for hot summer weather, as the higher oil weight and synthetic properties
will offer improved protection. However, I am wondering how viable it is to use 5W30 synthetic in Toronto/Canadian winters? My take on
it is that 5W30 synthetic should be more easier flowing than 5W30 conventional oil. So that it lies somewhere between 5W20 oil and
5W30 oil. Any other opinions on this (pertaining specifically to winter)?

What about using 5W30 synthetic in summer, and 5W20 in winter? Is that another option?

though Honda recommends 5w20, I don't think using 5w30 during summers is a bad thing. It can't be too bad during winters, either.

5W30 is fine for all around use, and if you using Mobil 1, even better for the extreme weather in Toronto.... > "Go Leafs"

yeah they recommend 5w20 but honestly it wont matter. but 5w20 would be better for startup protection because it will get there faster however if you plan on using Mobile 1 I wouldnt even worry about it. Just to let you know I contacted Mobile 1 and they do plan on making a synthetic 5w20 but they are not sure when ... I think that is crazy considering they make the Honda Brand Oil that you can buy from the dealer
