Line loc's / roll control ?'s
I don't know much about posting, as I don't do it often - but I'll try to get what I need known out here:
first click and read this ish unless you know what line-loc / roll control is...
second - are our civics (mostly MT's) already equipped with such systems to prevent rolling?
(i.e. when you're sitting in first holding clutch and brake on this steep son-of-a-gun road and soon as you release brake you gotta shove more gas in your engine real quick and leggo of the clutch so as not to hit the person behind you.. or when you're holding down clutch and revv'ing those RPM's to get ready to let out - you kinda gotta release clutch back and forth so as not to go backwords and not pass the starting line... ya, make sense? I hope-)
if so why does civic roll? if not - my real question then is are there systems like the one in that link available for our civics?
if so, do they go by different product names? or would I try finding a "roll control for civic 01+" ? if anyone has info. as to where to get it - lemme know, thanks.

A line lock is used for drag racing. In a drag race while using racing slicks, you need to spin the tires to heat them up. Obviously, this will make the car go forward. So in a rear wheel application, like a Mustang, you push down on the brakes and lock the front wheels. This will prevent the car from moving, while still allowing you to spin your tires.
In a front wheel drive car, you already have a line lock. The parking brake locks the rear wheels allowing you to spin the fronts. To warm up the slicks, you would pull the front tires into the bleach and lock the parking brake and spin your tires.
When you are on a hill, a good trick is to hold the button on the parking brake and pull it up. This will keep the car from rolling while allowing you to engage the clutch. Practice a bit with no one around and soon you can handle even San Francisco hills with ease. Simply let the parking brake down slowly while releasing the clutch. It takes a bit of practice but it will prevent you from rolling back into another car. It seems that people like to ride your rear when you are on a hill with a manual.
Take it easy!
