IDQcivic has the downpipe on his car. It should pass emmisions , he had to get an 02 simulator. The guy that he got it from , i ordered an exhaust from him off ebay paid him about a week ago he cashed the check and then he started acting stupid. then he cleared it uo , then when i emailed him to ask if he sent it or when its gonna be sent and he wont reply , so dont know if u should get the downpipe from him , but IDQ said he didnt have any problems with the seller.

U will fail emissions no matter what without a catalytic, the o2 sensor just has to do with the engine running right because without the cat the readings will be all screwed up

hey, i have that too and you'll fail emissions. it replaces your catalyst, and with it, you can smell the strong emissions you put out. but i didn't have to get a O2 simulator, my CEL stays off. the dealer was ok, but he lagged with shipping it out.

Inspection and emissions are two different things. Without a cat, you'll fail inspection, but you could pass emissions. My Ford 4.6L V8 running dual exhaust...gutted cats & no mufflers passed emissions, but it would never pass inspection.

well i guess some cars can pass, but my old jeep failed everytime cause of the damn cat breaking apart, and I am sure these cars being ulev leaves almost no room for even a faulty catalytic as they have much stricter emissions tests.

ULEV doesn't lower your emission requirement...it's all at a set amount...correct? I thought a gas guzzler SUV and an econ-mobile Civic had the same emission requirements.

I do believe ULEV means harder tests on us. DC sports told me cuz of ULEV that they are having a hard time with some 2k1 products themselves.

iamboo is on a distinguished road
there is no point in getting a downpipe for our civics... there is no turbo.... no supercharger... therefore downpipe is useless..... it's just an extra pipe.... just get headers and custom piping... does the same ****...

There are two O2 sensors on our cars. One before and one after the cat. The computer is reading the difference. And in CA you will fail both the inspection and the smog test. You will also have to trick the computer into ignoring what it thinks is a failed cat.

ULEV means Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle. Eventually all cars will have to pass more strict smog tests. That means our cars put out even lower emissions than most. That is the main problem we are not getting any big turbos or stuff like that. They simply will not pass smog.
