how do u get a stripped nut off that pain in the a$$ place on header
i was installing a DC sports header today. i had every nut and bolt off except that pain in the *** one where the ac hose is. i went out and got a gator grip socket. but it wouldn't reach the nut. i also very carefully hammered a smaller socket on it and still didn't work. i have no idea what to do i can't break it and i'm not going to take out all that crap around it just for that. please help guys!!!!!!!!!!
you're in for it now. i had the same problem only i STOPPED when i felt the slightest socket slippage. just get a socket extension piece for around $3 and lots of wd-40, and while you're at the hardware store pick up some new nuts.

that bolt sucks, everyone i know has had problems with it. i just kept at it, stopping when i felt the socket slipping. it took a lot to get it off, good luck. i'm so glad the new header doesn't use the heat shield at all.
If its stripped bad enough that you cant get a socket around it use a vice grip...and if you HAVE TO you can drill into the bolt and goto an automotive shop and buy a tap...its a piece that you tap into the hole in the top of the bolt and then a wrench goes on the other end and you can turn it out...BUT BE CAREFUL
Hope it Helps

Had the same problem and took it to the dealer and they took it off. The guy in the back was not suppose to do it, but I talked him in to it. See the little amount of work he did (removing the bolt) should have cost me like 35-45$, the cost of just pulling it in to the shop. When they told me that at the front desk, I got the one of the technicans to run out to the parking lot and take it off. All it needed was a little tender loving care and a little torque in the right place.

Yeah,....the key..not that it helps you now...........is proper torque angle.......I had no problems, but the use of a deep socket and extension is best.. ...I would recommend a machine shop to help good luck bro!!!
