My door can only lock with a key

This is really weird, guys: the driverside door won'y lock with the button, and I can't lock it by pressing the lock manually, so I don't know if it's a broken actuator.

The only way to lock it is from outside with the key.

How do you fix this?
thnx

The drivers door will not lock when it is open, the lock **** will not go down.

How about if you sit in the car with drivers door closed and push the lock button or the lock **** down ?? Does it work then ??
It should lock when closed by doing either, it should also lock the other door(s)

ur actuator is blown. usually the driver goes out first... there is a DIY on here, search for it, its an easy fix, jsut time consuming.

I have the same problem, i dunno if it is mechanical. If you hold the door handle open and push the lock button down it will lock from the inside. Works on my 01 Lx

The fact that it won't lock when open is the very old method Honda uses to keep you from locking yourself out. It is a normal function.

I have used this method a few time on my 05 but it somehow gets in a weird locked up state that freaks me out so I quite doing it ( I sometimes like to lock the car with it running and use a 2nd key to get back in)

The best way to check actuators is use the power lock button (drivers door closed) they should both go up and down quickly. Another good test is when you use the keyless to lock/unlock, the pulse used is just a bit shorter. If the lock ***** are sluggish or there are noises when you 1st try them it is a sign.

The one on my passenger side would work fine for a while if cycled it a few times but got very slow when 1st used later. Eventually it would sometimes not lock completely.
