Painting/Spraying Front Bumper HELP!!

Sup guys,
Well money is tight and I cant see myself bringing my front bumper to meico or wherever to spend 100$ something to get it painted. Whats the best quality cost efficient way I can go about doing this without it looking to sketchy.

2 cans of primer for starters?
Is spray paint the only way to go about doing this it seems?

I have a 99 silver civic lx sedan btw if that helps ; )

You will get what you pay for. If you do the spray can method you will get a blotchy look. From a distance it may look ok, but once you get close to the car you'll totally tell and if that were me, it would bother the crap out of me. My suggestion is take it to Earl Shieb or Maaco to have them do it. I'd recommend Maaco over Earl btw.

Re: Painting/Spraying Front Bumper HELP!!

when you pay 100$ at the stop u get:
1. a correctly and PROFESSIONALLY paint bumper
2. good paint that wont chip in a few months.
3. a person who knows how to use a proper gun

when u do it at home you will get:
1. a shitty paint job
2. you will WASTE 50$ o more on paint supplies (primer, sand paper, base coat, clear coat....etc)
3. u obviously suck at paint o have never used a can/gun properly if u are asking this question.
4. if u get professionaly custom made areosol bottles, the cost will pretty much be simular to getting it professionally done.
5. 100$ is cheap at the pro shop.

is it possible to paint ur car with a aerosol bottle? yes.

ive done it, but it was with custom aerosol bottles with a prograde tip.

i sprayed my whole bike with the spray can:

1.who are you to say it'll be shitty? I may be a fcukin picaso fool. You dont know me kid. To say I suck at spraying is idiotic and childish. Ive handled more spray paint cans then you've handled your own junk. It was just a simple question, get over yourself loser.

Either way thanks for the response geek

Great grammar and respect from a new guy who is asking for someone's opinion on a public forum. Yes you are right he doesn't know you. You are a just a random, poor, and uneducated douche bag who posts dumb questions about spray painting your bumper. Good luck with the Krylon custom paint job.

Re: Painting/Spraying Front Bumper HELP!!

Yea buddy, I am 19 and I am more intelligent than you, pretty sure you aren't a junior in college at 19. Yes I'm sure your 99 civic lx with the awesome krylon candy apple primer front bumper is an extraordinarily expensive car. Obviously YOU HAVE NO MONEY IF YOU ARE TRYING TO SPRAY PAINT YOUR CAR! Spray painting your car also confirms your lack of intelligence furthering my point. Get off the forum, go have a beer, and think about saving up the money to have a shop paint your bumper.

had to jump in and flame the newb. First if your asking questions about spray painting plastic then You dont know **** about painting
second if you have a much more exepnsive car and money isnt a problem why are you worrying about a c-note to paint a bumper?? perhaps you could consider selling your Much more expensive car as sorta a down payment on a GOOOOOOOD paintjob that'll maybe run ya 150

Re: Painting/Spraying Front Bumper HELP!!

Bunch a **** on this forum. All I did was ask a question to explore my options. Just internet geeks who are losers in real life who take any chance they can get to redeem themselves by shooting down someone on the internet! That **** is coooool! Living through my thread regaining confidence in yourselves lol Pathetic

ProjectMayhem- not spraying the car fool, just the bumper. Its not red its silver and yes I do have a much more expensive car : / sorry that you only have your raggedy civic to drive around punk. My god, someone should take you out back...put you over their knee and spank you like the poor little pathetic punk you are with your POS civic trying to race bigboys like me and just getting laughed at hahaha

It was only a question guys...grow up. Didnt know if there was a flawless way to paint a bumper. This car isnt my pride and joy like some of yours. LIke I mentioned its my DD and my weekend warrior is what doesnt get things like this done to it. By the time I add up all costs, it'll prob be a hair away from getting it professionally painted. So I'll just call up meico and get an estimate when the time comes. Thanks for your time ****!

Re: Painting/Spraying Front Bumper HELP!!

LMAO at how serious people take these threads! Its the internet, CHILL!

Dude don't get your panties in a twist. Just get the quotes and go from there. Just know that a DIY is probably more hassle than its worth for painting a bumper. One last recommendation, get several quotes and even try smaller shops too. They may actually be cheaper and provide better service than Maaco or E.S..
