Re: DIY Aluminum Shifter Bushings and Revo Short Shifter Install - PICS!!
hey foos, or whoever.
you mind doing a quick write up on how to install greys kit. I tried to google and search for a write up on it but a no go. I don't pictures but just a good explation.
I installed my fog lights + revo yesterday. Convient because both needed the center console off. I just just had to assume where the washers went, the cotter pins were obvious. however one didnt seem to fit as nicely as the one on the passenger side.
I quoted you once about greys kit. you siad something about, two clips that attack to the cord to limit the side to side play.
please explain i tried to contact grey for his instructions but no reply. he's mia.
So any help would be great. like i said, i assumed where his kit went and it works but not sure if i did it right and actualy benifiting from it heh.
Thanks

Thanks for the comment, but i did quite a bit of sanding and came to a conclusion.
well heres what i did. On the padssenger side, I have the shift cables then to the right of them i have 2 rubber washers, followed by the cotter pin. That fit just fine.
On the drivers side, I tried sanding down the washer to fit, however it would not. Even without the washer, the hole for the cotterpin is real close to the plastic assembly. I dont even think i could squeeze a "normal" washer in there.
So unless im missing someting, (placement of washers) I dont know. If someone has his instructions or could detail how it should be that would be great.
(btw, those 4 bolts for the assembly were damn impossible. I had the front passenger side snap on me about half way through. Seeing as its cold as **** outside, I just got the other 3 off, and when it called for reassembly i put the other 3 back on and put some silicone in the hole. The shifter assembly was still extremely steady without the forth bolt in. I figure when things warm up ill remove the snapped bolt.

Well, I just sold my car to my brother, and the second day he drove it he somehow made the cotter pin come out. I had to take apart the console and fix it, but I don't remember what all was in there. Can you get a picture of how you installed it? I know the rubber bonded washer should sandwich the upper shifter cable with the rubber sides facing inside.

I as well just install the revo ss and the aluminum bushings. the shifter is very good. i still have a problem shifting into 1st gear. i also feel some hesitation when shifting into 2nd & 3rd. any suggestions?

If that question is for me? Im not that stupid lol. No. stockers are lone gone. I had a little play in the cable that moves back and forth. i shmmed it with nylon washers. still theres just a weird feeling in my shifts. alot less, but it's still there.
Re: DIY Aluminum Shifter Bushings and Revo Short Shifter Install - PICS!!
Anyone else have this problem with their installation?
I was finger tightening the black allen screw to the revo in order to correctly adjust the shift throw. It seems that the screw is too short for the theads to catch. The washer that was supplied with the new shifter is just a little thick. I am going to see if I can find a washer that is not as thick. Anyone else have this problem and if so, how did you solve it.
