2003 4-dr. Lx Gas Mileage Help!!

Hey everyone....I just bought my 2003 LX 4-dr. automatic on November 1st with 25,500 miles on the clock. It was Honda certified and I also got that complete warranty thing they offered. Whats going on is I filled up the car when I drove it off the lot. The 1st tank of fuel only cost me 20 bucks and i got almost 450 miles out of that tank. Needless to say I got real excited over that...but that died quickly. Every tank after that 1st one my mileage has been real ****ty to say the least. I usually now get to like 220 miles and its already down to a quarter of a tank left. I have taken it on a trip to West Virginia recently and i got a little over 300 miles b4 the gas light came on. I will also go ahead and say the car now has 30,100 miles on it and it runs like a complete dream still. I took it to the dealer because they gave me my 1st oil change for free and they also checked everything as part of the oil change and said all was well. I asked Honda about the problem I am having and they happily said my warranty doesnt cover it because that is considered a maintenance item and I need a fuel induction service that was over 100 bucks to have done. What should I do about this?? Any ideas would definately be appreciated. Mind you the car shows no signs of abuse...interior and exterior looks completely brand new and the engine purrs like it should. Thanks guys and sorry for the long post...just wanted to make sure I explained everything that was going on.

Make sure your air filter is clean. If thats dirty that will rob you of gas mileage. Also you might consider a fuel sytem cleaner, like fp60 or lube control. Your injectors maybe dirty. You should def be getting 340 mpg at least on a tank for highway driving. City you should see close to 300mpg.

ok,everyone experieces this phenomena. lol happened to e when i got my car from the stealership. But what i think they do is slip something into your car to like boost the efficiency of your car. Like i think grey knows of some product to buy online that makes it to where you can change your oil like after 10000 miles instead of the 3000 that most people do. This liquid product also says it improves gas mileage and its pretty much like a vitamin for your car. I wish i knew what it was off the top of my head but, i would recommend researching that after u already did what ronaldo said, which checking everything. I mean im half tempted to but some myself.... i thin it might be the fp60, that sounds familiar but i dont remember

check your filter and your air pressure in your tires. both of those things are really crucial for gas mileage. I average about 33mpg, sometimes 35 depending on how I drive, but that's with a CAI and my car is also lowered.

i also have an 03 lx sedan auto. I get at least 300 miles a tank but now i fill up at closer to 400 miles with the tank since i do 70 miles a day of freeway commute with little traffic to my new job. yeah do what the other people said and how aggressive you drive has a lot to do with your gas mileage. Drive carefully enough, and you can enjoy 40+ mpg

could be anything really, i would ask what are the tires set on (psi), probably 30, so try putting it up to 35 all around, def check the air filter. How do you drive? hard or like grandma? what kind of gas are you using (ie: shell, sunoco, no name bs)?

oh i heard a few people on here talk about Sea Foam, I've used it on my 94 gs-r and it seems to do a nice job used about half a can on the tb and put a 1/4 in my gas tank to clean the injectors

I have checked my tire pressure and air filter...all are fine. The tire pressure is at 30 psi...I heard that if i were to run it at any other pressure that it would majorly affect my steering and handling, but i will try that and see. I have already sea foamed the car...ran it through the gas tank but never ran it through the intake and all that like I do my 93 EX. I will hone on that car every now and then but i do baby my 03 civic. I have never driven it hard yet and I even make sure I take it easy so I get as best gas mileage as possible. One thing I have wondered about....could some of the reason for crappy mileage is because its cold out? Ive heard that a car gets less mileage when its cold out as compared to summer.
