Rep Power: 0 exhaust's effect on gas mileage..
k, I know that intakes have a tendency to slightly lower gas mileage because of the increase of gas pumped in by the ECU.. but, I have heard that cat-back exhausts will increase your gas mileage because of increased efficiency, any truth to this? how about headers? thanks

Rep Power: 0 Exhaust does increase gas mileage but pretty much unnoticably.. like. .04 miles per gallon.. An Intake will Noticibly affect your gas mileage. What happens is the oxygen sensor in your exhaust detects more oxygen(easier flow out of the cylinder, More clean air goes into the chamber each time and more fuel is injected) But as I said.. the difference is irrelevant.

Rep Power: 0 yeah, i know the Civic's are already amazing with gas mileage and I shouldnt complain.... I just was wondering if the exhaust would counter-act the intake's lowering of MPG, but oh well, i worry too much

Rep Power: 0 By the sound of how many of the people on this site drive, I doubt getting good gas mileage is a top priority.
"One of the reasons I bought a honda civic is for the great fuel efficiency.............and by the way, I smoked a ford focus yesterday!!" Hehehe

Rep Power: 0 I haven't noticed any significant differences in gas mileage before/aftre installation of my CAI and Cat-back exhaust. I still get ~34MPG with 17" rims and tires... So I can't complain.

Rep Power: 0 It probably will increase the milage but it sounds so good with intake and exhaust so you'll be driving harder
to hear it so you're milage will go down. I've tried to get a good tank of gas but I keep getting the need to
drive hard so I ruin the test.
