ryancivic has a little shameless behaviour in the past
making your own gasket?

got headers off of ebay and put them in. stock gasket is a little bit too small on the inside so i tried to shave it down but it ended up just tearing all the stringy things out so i got it over the header to where i could clamp it down. guy at kragens said you can buy gasket material and make it yourself. bc if i were to simply replace it with an oem then it would still be too small. any ideas?

ok enough of me being a jack ***. The holes in the gasket are to small for the diameter of the header? Really it doesnt matter, your header is technically supposed to be bigger then the head, which is what the gasket is matched too. so basically your not really losing surface area of the header opening since the gasket is the size of the exhuast port....

cliff notes: The gasket is matched to the exhaust ports on the head, therefore, as long as it seals it then your good, no "loss" of flow.

^^ exactly. The gasket should match the head. If they're still too small, then use High Temp copper gasket maker to make an exhaust gasket. Run circles around each port then bolt the header down.

ive used the gasket material stuff but only on things like my lawn mower and stuff. i did make a thermostat housing gasket for my sisters car with it before she traded it in. worked well. i would use a torch or something, not a cutting torch, but a propane torch and see how much heat the gasket material can handle before i put it on my car. just cut a small square off and torch the **** out of it. if it doesnt distort real bad or go up in flames i would try it if you dont want to spring for another EM gasket from honda.
