Hey guys.. I have a 2001 Honda Civic LX and have no idea whther or not it has a keyless entry system. I used the search feature about this and found that you can tell by either haveing that green plug above the yellow plug under the steering wheel or a little black box inside the dash that you can see via taking off that plastic that surrounds the ciggerette lighter. I have the green plug but I don't have the black box.. Any other way I can tell?

if the green plug isnt plugged into anything, you dont have keyless.

Get someones keyfob and try programming it to your car. There are instructions on this forum or the internet.

because 5 Honda dealerships claim there is no way to tell without paying them a crapload of money...

I have an 02 lx, my friend has an 02 LX, none of us have keyless. my other friend has an 02 EX....that has keyless. Best way to find out.....goto the honda dealer and ask them if the 02 LX comes with keyless, dont goto the service dep. ask the "sales" dep.

the green plug im talking about is high above the kick panel, not at the fusebox. It is usually taped out of the way to another harness.

If you pull out the trim that has your cig. lighter/accessory socket, peer into the darkness with a flashlight... You should see a small black box box with a white label that has an FCC ID on it and alot of FCC related writing... if you are missing this then you do not have keyless.
