A/F Guage problems

I've got my Autometer A/F gauge installed today but I'm having problems. When I turn on the car the gauge displays one led at the lean/stoi. line and one that flickers at the richest point of the gauge. This happens when the car is off with the key in the auxiliary position and changes as well. Also, when I turn on my lights the gauge jump up to about 1/2 of the way in the middle of stoi. Then will also change when I turn on my high beams and turn them back off. I cut into the purple wire from the pcm port under the steering wheel. I was thinking that was the right one, but I'm not too sure now. Does any one have any suggestions?

Thanks,
Josh

Try running the purple wire into your engine compartment and hooking it up to one of the wires on your O2 sensor. I'm not sure which one though.

The wire I connected it to is SUPPOSED to be the wire that comes from the sensor through the firewall.

I mounted it directly in front of my other gauges on top of where the steering wheel is attached...doubt that makes any since but that’s where I put it.

Click HERE to see what it's doing.

Thanks,
Josh

So, does the gauge move at all when you rev the engine?
I've installed a few of these and I've had that problem once. What we did was tap into the wire coming from the O2 sensor in the engine bay. For some reason, when we tapped it closer to the sensor, we got a better reading and it worked.

How many wire come from your O2 sensor? 4? You probably got the wrong wire.
