is there a way to take off the steering wheel 'neck' cover (for lack of a better word), the plastic cover that has the signal and wiper controls sticking out of it, w/o having to remove the steering wheel?

I just wanna get my Honda alarm light changed

turbo timer diy has it too. just remove bottom 3 screws and pull off the plastics. there is a top and bottom piece but they are clipped on hard to each other. I broke some of mine but it came off and went back together.

ok I got the cover off mine just lifted off....no pulling required...sweet....anyways now here is the dilemma i'm facing....I have two wires running to the light if you guys need pics just ask...one wire is yellow and one is red...looks about awg 10 or 8 not sure if that even matters or not
what is either wire?
for those who don't read all posts, I'm trying to replace the little red light on the steering wheel neck for the Honda Alarm....
<<<i'm no master of electrical wiring obviously...

the alarm LED is like a 500mA, very low voltage output because it is resistored at the alarm brain. You won't be able to just cut the old LED out and replace it with a scanner. You'll have to give the scanner 12v+, ground and a ground when armed output. You can, however, replace the LED with another LED without any problems.

just be sure you get a bare LED, most LED's you find at like pepboys or whatever have inline resistors, they wont work with your factory wires.
