From the looks of things, Bartkat, if you wanted to replace the side lining, a slight cut is needed. Also, if you wanted to place the carpeting flat on the floor, a small trimming is needed also. That is what I meant about cutting the liner part from an earlier repy post.

Anyways, good job at posting up the pics. double up.

Yep I think you are right. When I took the pics I tried putting the carpet under the bar. The formed (stiffer) side lining does kinda stick up a little so yes, cut tha too. If you want the carpet over the bar, you can lay that over the edge of the side lining piece and it kinda doesn't show.

I just installed my rear-upper OBX strut bar, and it makes a HUGE difference in handling. I have virtually zero body-roll now. I added this strut-bar to my front-upper and rear-lower strut-bars. I think out of all of them, the rear-upper made the most difference.

Now I need to eliminate nose-dive with koni shocks and eibach sportline springs....

so, is the rear-lower tie bar hard to install? or is it just not a good idea to install unless the car is raised off the ground? are there any rear-strut bars that lay almost against the floor? so they don't intrude on the trunk?

Scroll back through this thread. There are pics of the AC rear upper bar installed. It's low enough you can cover it with the original carpet. Intrude? Not much.

What are you guys talking about, trunk space? You don't even know it's there. Besides the upper bar seems to do much more than the lower one.

I figure maybe 4x4x36 or so inches. Comes out to less than 1/3 of a cubic foot. Now it might get in the way of some folks big speakers, but not sure.

Those of you who see significant improvements in roll resistance after install the rear upper bar... do you guys have a rear stab bar?

Hmm... I hope a get a big tax refund this year so I can afford more mods.

There's an anti-roll bar already on the stock Civic.

I have only added a front strut bar and a rear upper shoc tower bar. The difference with both is amazing.

Oops, forgot that everybody gets one for 2002. 2001 DX/LX doesn't get any... at least not in Canada.
