quick question
Hey guys im bored at work and need some peace of mind.
I just took my car in to Honda to get it looked at. they're doing 4 things:
- Checking knocking noise coming from engine area when A/C is on
- Checking belts - whinning sound coming from engine area
- checking drvr door lock - didn't pop when unlocked doors w/alarm for 2 days - then started working again. doesn't come all the way up when i unlock
- tightening e-brake
my question is - should all of this be covered by my warrenty? i have the 7 year 100,000 miles honda care plan - but i don't want them to pull the 'you have intake, so your belt warrenty is void' crap. Is there anyway they can use my mods to not honor the warrenty?
i have i/h, downpipe and flowmaster exhaust and its lowered with rims.
the preliminary est. was $130!

labor is expensive.. no they cant use a mod unless it directly effects what needs to be done to the car . If they say it is affecting it without proof, you can threaten to them for breach of your honda care plan warranty.
dont let them push you around

yeah..and im sure they will try to push me around. but of the problems i listed - and of the mods i have - there shouldn't be any problem, right? I mean the a/c and belts have nothing to do with intake headers or exhaust or the fact the im lowered

everything but the ebrake should be covered under warranty for sure. i think the ebrake is a maintenance item or something like that.

belts prolly arent covered. parts wise. just like hoses. but your mods shouldnt void warrenty. i brought my car to honda cause my gas door wouldnt open and they tried to blame my soundsystem. i told them to **** off and went to a different honda dealer and they fixed it in like 2 minutes.

so they just called and guess what, its nothing to do with my belts. its the A/C compressor that is going bad and they are going to replace it under warrenty. Also, they're going to fix my locks under warrenty as well. so everything is all good!!!
BUUUUUT - they're charging me $26 because i asked them to tighten my ebrake cable!! damn i guess they gotta make their money somewhere, huh? i shoulda done it myself i was just lazy
