??diy Axleback???
??diy Axleback???
hey, i havent found the answer in a post yet so..i have an axleback and to my surprise i saw the clamp holding the muffler on as opposed to welds(i never knew)so im lookin into putting an axle back on my gf's civic, and...so is it really as easy as getting some couplings and the proper clamp to attach an aftermarket muffler onto the stock exhaust pipe, because if it is, i have a saw zaw and i will do it myself, does anyone have any definite knowledge on this????

they do make things that do that yes. not really the best way. you could get leaks and ****. if thats all you want to do then just go to a little muffler shop with a aftermarket muffler and have them welded on. like 50 bucks to weld it on.

not sure what u mean by diy... but if its an axleback made for our cars, then it should be quiet simple, just bolts. even with cat-back, its not that hard. didn't need to cut or make anything to make it fit.
ok well maybe my phrasing is wrong but when i had my probe i had a cat back custom completely welded, which is what i had assumed would happen when i bought a new muffler for my civic, but after i took the muffler to the shop, i looked under the car and it seemed to be clamped on with the exception of the hanger, and its been about a year since its been on i dont have any leak problems, so im wondering with the exception of the hanger are mufflers put on by using clamps most of the time, ive heard something about v-band clamps if anyone is familiar
