Cai

hi there, i have a 2005 civic dx, sedan A/T and am looking to put a CAI system but couldn't seem to find one on the net. Most of the CAIs i see out there are for 2004
Will they also work on 2005 because someone told me it wouldn't. I'm interested on the AEM CAI specifically. Even the AEM website doesn't show a CAI system for 2005. If any of you gurus know of a site or any brand of a CAI system that would work for my ride, pls. let me know. Any help would be greatly appreciated
regards,
Dan

the only CAI for auto is Injen, unless you go ebay.... but most ppl have a hard time fitting the AEM CAI replica in an auto. (hence why AEM never made a CAI for the auto).
I'm so confused now :-( i've inquired about a couple of CAIs on ebay(01-04), they said it wouldn't fit on 05. Is there a difference on the engine between the 04 and 05? I'd really like to put an inexpensive CAI or SRI on my 05 civic but don't know which one to get. Any help would be really appreciated.

the only CAI avialable for automatic civics is by Injen. the injen race division to be specific. AEM CAI intakes will not work because i beleive it has to do with the tranny/motor mount?
when your looking for civic parts, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2003, 2004, and 2005 will share the same engine. you need to look to check if their made specifically for EX, LX/DX, Si, non US models, etc.
01-05 civic generations share the same general engine with little differences between the two, but nothing major.
assuming your brand to this site, i will tell you that intakes in general offer minimal to no performance gains in our/your year civics. their basically for noise and maybe that small 1hp gain. they are also known to decrease low end and increase your high end, very slightly.
of course some will say just get a eBay one as they all work the same, TRUE. BUT, before you make that move, you have to keep in mind not ALL eBay generic intakes come with warranty, gaurantee OEM fitment, etc like the quality brands like AEM/Injen/K&N/DC/etc. so basically, that extra bucks gaurantees fitment, quality, and looks.
maybe i can help out a bit:
first, why are you buying an intake?
whats your budget?
will you be installing this piece yourself? (sri are easier to install as CAI requires to remove front bumper and more advanced procedure)
