I just adjust my throtle cable the other day. It is tight, i like it better like that. But I was wondering, does adjusting the cable his any affect on my MPG...Gas Millage ?? Good Question huh ? Cause I notice gas went down a little quicker or was it cause I was Creepin a little to long, the stop and go and stepping on it , gunning my Civic down the quarter mile over here ? Fill me in guys.....Im curious cause if it does affect my MPG im gonna change it back to factory!!

Yeh...it's not the cable adjustment that brings the miles down, it's the your acceleration from gasing it : )

Well, actually... If you raised your idle rpm's then you're using more gas now while idling, so of course you're going to use more gas. If you haven't changed the idle rpm's (it should be about 600) then it's all your fault. You're a maniac driver!

Answer: No unless you over tighten. Result of tightening it in the first place to give a better pedal response.

No...when you do this mod all you do is reduce the slack on the cable, therefore little effort is required from the driver's foot on the pedal to open the throttle. Not aware of this, most people will still press down on the gas pedal with the same pressure as they did before the "mod", therefore resulting in more gas being used, wich leads to the lower than average MPG.
