Sunroof Wiring Diagram for Alarm

I'm attempting to wire up a 529T window module to close my sunroof when the alarms arms and to open it with an axuliary channel. I took a meter to the relays activated by the switch hoping to tap in there, (did that on my old Accord although it had no vent feature).

The problem is that there has to be something more to the sunroof system because the wires change from power/ground depending on the position of the sunroof. My next step is to go to the motor power wires directly since those out of the relays are obviously not them.

Has anyone hooked up a 529T (or similiar) window module to their sunroof, and if so, where did you tap into the wires? I'm assuming that its not just two wires that reverse polarity to open/close because it has to know it when you push vent. Is there a 2nd motor for it to vent?

Any help is greatly appreciated. TIA -Kevin

You can't tap into the switch because a 529T is voltage sensing. That way it knows when to shut off, it senses the increase voltage draw when the sunroof is closed/open. It can't sense current by taping into the switch as the switch merely drives relays.

On the other hand, when you tap into the motor wires directly the sunroof won't stop in the closed postion. Basically when the sunroof motor is fully open the sunroof is opened. When the motor is fully closed the sunroof is in the vent position (not closed). The close position on the sunroof is not the end of the motors cycle, is more like 3/4 of the way and it won't get a voltage increase because the motor not fully extended.

I actually figured out how to make this work today if anyone is interested. My sunroof will close from the open position and stop at close. It will close from the vent position. And will open fully from either vent or close all via remote and a 529. You'd have better luck emailing me at kevin33@***.net as I don't check the forums as much as I used to.

AlienX: I appreciate your replay. I posted the original thread the day before I actually hooked up the 529 window module to the sunroof to see if anyone had some experience with it. It took me a while to figure it out, but once I pulled the schematic and saw how the system operated it wasn't that hard to figure it out from there. I just had to mimic some switch functions with the 529 and temp apply power to the sunroof relays. I also had to diode isolate it so the temporary power didn't backfeed into the rest of the car, it would apply power to Aux1 and make the alarm trigger (same as turning key to aux one while the alarm is armed). I also had to diode isolate the ground when armed wire, so the ground from the actual sunroof switch didn't backfeed to the 530 controlling the windows. If not, closing the sunroof would close the windows as well. -Kevin

Re: Sunroof Wiring Diagram for Alarm

Hey sorry to renew an old thread, I just bought this module and can't figure it out. Kevin I emailed you, I hope you get it, but if not if anyone can help me out with this i'd appreciate it. I know it's likely something simple, I'm not not comprehending it.

I hooked it up to the switch's and it did nothing, basically it just passed right through and the switched behaved like normal, couldn't get it to auto-anything.
