I'm Backing the lil bro who Could
All you haters are morons, the 2nd Gen Eclipse/Talon owners have been doing this for years, there air intake is basically behind there headlamp, and they can take that out without taking off there front bumper. So if any of you haters actually went to the track instead of looking up decals and racing stripes on Ebay all day, you'd see that peeps have been doing this all the time.
still got issues though bro.
You might also wanna look up the set up a lot of Miata owners use.
Personally I think it would be more logical to get the CAI and a Body kit that would allow an opening from a lower point.

Bad news. Looks like I will be unable to test the setup sunday.
I just talked to one of the techs at the local strip. He told me if I relocate my battery to the trunk they are now mandating a kill switch and since the back of my car is gutted I would have to put a firewall up. Seems a little strict, but he said since they are a NHRA track they are responsible for making sure every car is up to standards.
So instead of paying well over $100 to do the relocate the right way I got a plan B.
I'm just gonna get an Odyssey(Planned to get one anyway) for $70 and fabricate a custom mount/enclosure right below where the stock battery sits to give me clearance for the intake setup.
This way I'll save $$, weight, and less hassle.
So I will continue to research and work on my custom intake setup, but it's gonna take some time to get everything I need and all the issues worked out.
Thanks for the feedback and the fact that some people flame and say it's stupid or can't be done just motivates me more.
Just because the possiblity of failure exists doesn't mean I'm gonna give up.
Nothing ventured = nothing gained

nah I learned my lesson last time. I'll just keep my mouth shut until it's finished. I'd like to get a spare headlight too in case I screw up, but they are pretty pricey. I'll continue to work on it when I get back, but it may be a while.
