Over Heating Bulbs??

Sorry I know I should search for this, but I had to ask also.
My question is: has anyone put 80/85W hyper white bulbs on thier 2k1 civic? If so has anything gotten too hot, or melted anything in the headlamp assembly?
I just got some bulbs off of ebay and I want to make sure they aren't going to mess anything up in my car.
Thanks everyone.

well the stock wattage is 60/65, so it might be too hot for your stock wiring, but some people have the 80/85 bulbs on this site and they dont have any problems....yet.

I wouldn't get them unles you get this Upgrade Harness
If your running just the bulbs you might fry some wires.... don't take a chance becasuse electrical system work = BIG $$$$$$

I have the high watt bulbs, at first the were getting kinda hot, but just to be safe I used the external wire harness. The wire harness hooks up to your battery and plugs into you existing bulb plugs, on the harness is 2 new plugs with a higher grade wire so that you dont wind up melting you wires, and the wire can support the higher wattage

Thanks guys.
I talked to Honda also, the guy said that it would cost too much to fix if something does melt. But I'm not willing to risk that.
He said that they sell a wire harness there so I guess I'll buy that from them.
Thanks again.

The stock wattage is 55/60 watts. Anything higher than that, you run the risk of the bulbs burning too hot and burning out or melting something.
