If it gets below freezing, the throttle plate could freeze shut. It won't help very much for gain, since the intake manifold will still get hot (from touching the head) and make the air warm. So if the throttle body doesn't heat up the air, the IM will. It's useless.

Well, I gotta tell you. The bypass was easy and the hoses are a hell of a lot hotter than the throttle body! So i thinks its well worth it.
