Help!! Vafc 2
ok i installed the thing and did the initial setup. i even connected the vtm wire, but the cel is on and the engine idles fine. when i am driving the VTo keeps switching on and off really fast and if i get on it to hard then the car boglles. what do i do? what is the correct sensor number? mine is set at the default 6-6. vtec type i put as 3. is that right?, and i have not made any other setings at all so i am pretty sure it is not the correction factor. HELP!!

Yup, you did it wrong. Unplug the negative terminal of the battery and let it reset. I'm searching for the initial setup steps you need to do. Hold on...

You followed the wiring diagram correctly I'm assuming. VTC and TDC don't get connected. Anyway, here are the initial setup steps you need to do do when you first turn the car on (but NOT start the engine). Compliments of NorrinRadd:
As far as initial setup...
Just before doing initial setup, while turning ignition on press gas pedal down for 10 seconds, then release for another 10 seconds before moving on to initial setup settings step. This step takes care of step 6 below...
1. Sensor = 06 & 06
2. Cylinders = 4
3. Throttle Voltage = automatic
4. Throttle Type = Arrow pointing NE
5. VTEC Type = 1
6. See above...
7. VTC = N/A
8. Turn off ignition and your settings get saved

well just in case you are wondering. i set the wide throttle at 50% and narrow at 30%. then on the high cam i leaned it out 5% from 3000 to 6900. every 350rpm rounded up when it was in between. then i set the vtec engagment at 4000 and the disengagement at 3500. seems to have picked up slightly. all in all i am pleased with the results. i will dyno tune and post results but keep in mind i am a broke college student and money is hard to come by these days.
