check engine light HELP
i have had my cat gutted for about 4 months now and as soon as i did it my check engine light came on. is there any way to get this check engine light to go off.. someone told me o2 bungees but i never heard of them or found them. any help is appreciated b.c my car has to be inspected next month guess i might have to buy another cat
if you gutted your cat then it may be your o2 sensor telling the ECU somethings up. a MIL Eliminator or a o2 sensor simulator will trick the ECU into thinking you have a cat. But u said u have an inspection? Im guessing this is a smog inspection? you wont pass with a gutted cat

What? Why did you gut your cat if you did not know the repurcutions?!?!?! Of course you are going to get a check engine light! Why? Because your O2 sensor says you are running ULEV anymore. If you want to to get rid of it you need an o2 simulator. If you have a tailpipe test, then you might not pass. If they plug into OBDII then you just need an o2 sim. If you want to know what an o2 simulator is then search.

Got mine today from BigJoshRacing.com (MIL Eliminator / O2 simulator) and installed it. So far I hav enot had the CEL come back on. I have a Hi-flow cat and a header with the Magnaflow cat-back system. Just amazing I may add. The sound and performance is just wonderful. For all you doubters, JUST GET IT! Anyhow, reset my ECU many a times by diconnecting the battery and then it came back about 15 or so minutes later. It was because of the lack of the cat. The O2 sensor said something is wrong with my cat. Funny, there is no cat anymore. Ha, ha. Your owners manual even says if the CEL comes on one of the main things is your emission system to check. So, whether driving with your CEL is bad or not, which it shouldn't hurt but I hear the ECU steps down your fuel mapping if you do-you should invest in one of these. Now I will have to see if I need a VAFC controller to pass emissions even with this ULEV engine. Laters guys.

Alright guys I need help again. I have a Hi-flow cat and got a O2 sim. I hooked it up and no good. $5 min later the CEL came back on. I read again (the instructions) and it mentions every so lightly that the connections should start approx. 2 in from the O2 connecting plug. So, I redid the hook-up. The light came on after a 2 1/2 hour trip.
So, I need to know am I doing more wrong. I notice when my Venom module is on too it used to come on faster. Are wire taps as bad as I heard for connections? Please give me some feed back. Thanks-
By the way you all feel like everytime you do something its just-
in your face? Just me I quess.
