BREEZE is an unknown quantity at this point

check engine

does anyone know how to turn off the check engine light....

it isnt on yet but it is blinking longer than normal...

and i just changed my oil

i thought it just stays on if there was a problem or something?

i know it ussually blinks but it blinks longer than all the other stuff on the dash

if i'm not mistaken mine blinks longer than my normal lights also! if it comes on and stays on then check it out i guess!!

happened to my car also.. took it to my frined's dad's garage, he had a mechanic look at it... this is what he did to turn it off...

start the car, let it sit in idle for about 15 minutes or so, turn it off, turn it on and see if it fixed it..worked in my case..

my check engine light actually stayed on.. thats why i had it checked, but it did exactly what yours is doing, staying on even longer than normal.

did u reset it after u changed your oil
I think its just cause it got 2 close to the time when u were supposed 2.Just hold down the trip button 5sec before u turn the car on then keep holding it till it goes off unless theres something really wrong then IDUNNO LOL

here is what you do...

1. Open hood and take out fuse for EFI
2. put keys in car and turn to ACC
3 turn off and take out keys
4. put fuse back in and start the car
5. celebrate

that resets the maintenece light that will blink.

Check Engine Light does NOT equal Engine Maintenance Light

Are you sure that you are talking about your CEL?

i asked the dealer what it was and it starts blinkin and then will eventually stay on and it is b/c the civics are programmed to turn on the maintence light when it is time for the recommended factory maintencing schedule at whatever mileage its at
